Description

This infrared photocell safety sensor kit is designed to stop an automatic gate from closing when something is in the way. It works by sending an invisible infrared beam between the two units across the driveway or gate opening; if the beam is interrupted by a vehicle, person or other obstacle, the gate motor receives a signal to stop and reopen. It suits swing, sliding and cantilever gates and can be used with 240VAC or 24VDC gate motors, making it a practical add-on for sites where vehicle and pedestrian movement needs to be managed safely.

The kit includes one wired unit and one battery-powered unit, which helps reduce the need to trench or run cables under a driveway. The beam angle is adjustable to assist with alignment, and the detection range is 1m-10m depending on conditions. For sites with mixed vehicle heights (cars, utes, trucks or machinery), multiple photocell sets can be installed at different heights or positions so a single triggered beam can stop the gate movement. An IP54 rating and protective weather cover help shield the components from rain and dirt for reliable day-to-day operation.
